I'm a fairly hardened individual and I cried a lot when I saw this (and read the follow up). Not such a bad thing, but it was pretty fucked up thing to discover after looking for dog art for my new screen wallpaper.
Merely bringing it to attention (a long time after the fact) is asking random people to pick their scabs (not talking about me here). Looking at a _lot_ of the replies solicited, I don't know how constructive that was. Riling people up and getting everyone to cheer, "hang the bastard" is not in itself constructive and IMO an agro reaction is often a default distraction for a lot of people that can't handle their emotion- nothing wrong with being angry per se, but the point is: does it amount to conciousness raising or just get everyone shouty? The dickheads that went to jail were obviously hurt, angry and far from conscious- shit goes around, it's just an unavoidable fact of life.
Personally speaking; I've got a major university assignment to do and this little detour has been time consuming. Not good, not bad, just a big fucking ball of chaos (actually lobbed by Google).
FWIW I took a badly cut up pitbull home from the dog pound about 5 years ago. He is still here today and is my best mate. I lost a dog previously and had to deal with extortioners threatening to torture him. I've got a few scars myself. I know more than most people how fucked up humans can be. Just telling everyone doesn't help, IMO.
If you could post some recent photos of Firu kicking life's arse, that would shed light on the whole thing, that's all. Insight and overview and all that.
